Travis. The Man Who (1999)

The Man Who
is the second album by the Scottish indie rock band Travis, and the album that brought them into international recognition. It was first released in late spring 1999, and reached #1 in the UK albums chart, and #8 in Australia. It also helped the band win two BRIT Awards in 2000, and was the same year the album was released in Canada with "Why Does It Always Rain On Me?" as the first single, instead of "Writing To Reach You" which was the albums first single in the UK. The album was co-dedicated to Stanley Kubrick.

The title of the album is a reference to an Oliver Sacks book, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat.

In 2006, Q Magazine voted that The Man Who was the 70th greatest album of all time.

Travis. 12 Memories (2003)

12 Memories is the fourth studio album by the Scottish indie rock band Travis, first released in 2003. It is a much more mature and lyrically darker album and focuses on issues such as the 2003 Iraq invasion, politicians, and domestic abuse. It opened to rather mixed reviews by music critics. Three singles were released from the album. The first, "Re-offender", reached number 7 in the UK chart and was about domestic abuse. The second single, "The Beautiful Occupation", was inspired by the occupation of Iraq by US and coalition forces in 2003. The final single, "Love Will Come Through" was a much more classical Travis song and was subsequently featured in a marketing campaign by the Post Office. The end vocals for "Peace the Fuck Out" were provided by supporters of Celtic F.C. and Fulham F.C..

The album entered the UK charts at a relatively disappointing #3, and only shipped 300,000 copies in comparison to the 2 million of the previous two. "The Beautiful Occupation" was their first single to miss the top 40, charting at #48.

Travis. The Boy with No Name (2007)

The Boy with No Name is the fifth studio album by Scottish alternative rock band Travis. The album was released on 7 May 2007 in the United Kingdom and on 8 May 2007 in the United States.

The name of the album came about when lead singer Fran Healy and his partner Nora were deciding on a name for their newly born son. During this time, he sent a photo of his son to friend by email and labeled the photo "The Boy with No Name". Healy revealed this on the The Chris Moyles Show during an interview. Healy has also revealed in pre-album release performances that some tracks are influenced by his developing family status, such as "My Eyes" being about his new son or "Battleships" referring to ups and downs of relationships.

Receiving mostly positive reviews, The Boy with No Name entered at #4 on the UK Album Charts and #1 on the UK iTunes charts. In the U.S., the album debuted at number 58 on the Billboard 200, selling 12,000 copies in its first week.

Travis dedicated this album to the British world champion rally driver Richard Burns, who died of a brain tumour at the age of 34 in 2005.

Travis. The Invisible Band (2001)

The Invisible Band is the third studio album by the Scottish band Travis, first released in 2001. The title of the album reflects the band's feeling that their music is more important than the band making it. The title may be an allusion to Adam Smith's "invisible hand".

It was also mentioned by Fran Healy, that the title also refers to a band heard frequently on the radio, but the public only know their songs and not the band, as well as not knowing what they look like.

The album spent its first four weeks at the UK #1 album spot, and sold in 4 weeks what "The Man Who" took in 26.
