Kings Of Leon. Only By The Night (2008)

Only by the Night is the fourth album by Kings of Leon. It was released on September 19, 2008 in the Republic of Ireland, Germany, Australia and Belgium, September 22 in the UK and September 23, 2008 in the U.S..

In interviews with the band, it has been said that the next album will "rock harder" and more tracks like "Charmer", "Black Thumbnail" and "Camaro" have been suggested. "We've broadened our musical tastes in the past couple of years and feel we're ready to tackle our southern roots... again" says Jared Followill, the band's bass guitarist.

Three tracks from the album have been debuted live, "Crawl", "Sex on Fire" and "Manhattan". Caleb Followill claims that pain relieving drugs, which he took following a fight with his brother Nathan (drummer of the band), greatly enhanced his lyrics. Caleb is quoted as saying the medication caused him to write "the best songs of his career". An example of experimentation is evident in the opening track "Closer", which contains lyrical content pertaining to the life of a vampire.

Kings of Leon. Youth & Young Manhood (2003)

Youth & Young Manhood was the debut album from Kings of Leon, released in August 2003.

The album seemed to divide music fans: while some appreciated the album's blend of southern rock and Strokes-influenced Alternative rock, others considered it dull and clichéd, and denounced Caleb Followill's distinctive vocals as being unintelligible. But, as with most albums, this selection of raw, undubbed rock music matured with age, and is considered to be one of the greatest albums of the decade.

"Molly's Chambers", "Wasted Time" and "California Waiting" were all released as singles and "Red Morning Light" featured on the soundtrack to the game FIFA Football 2004. "Spiral Staircase" featured on the PS3 game Motorstorm.

The album was recorded between Sound City Studios, California (where Nirvana's Nevermind and Fleetwood Mac's Rumours were made) and Shangri-La Studio in Malibu.

Kings of Leon. Because of the Times (2007)

Because of the Times is the third album of Kings of Leon. Because of the Times was released by Hand Me Down on March 30, 2007 in Ireland/Australia, April 2, 2007 in the UK and April 3, 2007 in the US. NME announced the band were working on a new album in March 2006. Lead singer Caleb Followill said, "These songs are so much bigger, this band is so much better. There was a growth that people thought they heard on 'Aha Shake Heartbreak' from 'Youth And Young Manhood', but there's no comparison this time out. I think it's pretty evident when people hear it." The title refers to a large UPC ministers conference held in Alexandria, Louisiana that the brothers attended often. Moreover, lead singer Caleb Followill has said the title comes from the saying that "if an album does well it's 'because of the times' or if it bombs, it's 'because of the times'."
